Home      How we work

All our bags are designed by Steven Harkin and made in the UK, in our
workshop in the lovely Burnham on Crouch (Essex), just an hour East of
     London.

We use Italian Cow Hide leather, imported mainly
directly from Tuscany, the region of tanneries.
Some of the leather is vegetable tanned, i.e.  tanned
using tannin and other ingredients found in
vegetable matter, tree bark, and other such
     natural sources.

For the lining, Pigskin Suede and Goatskin are
available (the second on special request).
We sometimes use Kangaroo leather (for some of
the pockets), one of the strongest leathers on the
     earth.

Our fittings generally come from Italy or Spain.

Our tools & machinery include a clicking press and blades (to cut the
leather into shape), skivers (to prepare the leather for sewing, making its
edges thinner), sewing machines, edging machines and then thread,
     knives, punch holes, etc.

Our leather comes in a wide range of colours.
Ask anything, we'll try and find it.
